PROPERTY SEARCH

Kristi first found this property 5 years ago while searching for mountain property in north Georgia or North Carolina. She found a newspaper ad for mountain property for sale in N.C.. After a phone call and several visits we decided on 2 lots side by side (about 5 acres)

FINDING A BUILDER

The search to find a Log Home supplier and builder was a challenge (about 6 months). Fortunately one of our home owners in our development recommended Wahconah Log Homes and TimberCreek Builders out of Dillsboro. After interviewing several other log home suppliers and builders, the choice was easy - Wahconah and TimberCreek. Drawing up the plans took about 3 months. Then another month to finalize the budget.

Financing:

We are working with Brenda Tyler with Suntrust Bank out of Greenville, S.C.  We met Brenda Tyler and D'Andria Ashe with Suntrust Bank at a log home show in Greenville.  They are specializing in motgages for log homes.  They understand the unusual  upfront cost of the log package as well as working with the two parties (the log home supplier and the builder).

Why our Home Page?

We thought that there are other folks out there, who like us, have never been through the "log home adventure".  We're hoping that any experiences we can share will benefit you.  If you are looking for a "DO IT YOURSELF" guide, you've come to the wrong place.  I work full time in another state and the practicality of trying to manage this project was not feasible.  Plus, North Carolina requires that builders be liscenced. If you're looking for a "Turn-key Project", we can share with you our experiences.  Our goal was to find the best "value for our money". And we believe that Wahconah and TimberCreek has done so.
